"You pay more for the convenience of the monorail - nice hotel but you spend your time at the parks."

"Several things:
We have stayed at this hotel in the past, and it seems as if no improvements have been made since we stayed there last time -- beds were soft and worn down, carpet had stains, etc. Things in general seemed a little run down. Also, one of the elevators kept resetting floor selcetions mid-course to no floors selected. I would have expected much more from a $400/night hotel -- you certainly wouldn't get this kind of environment at a Four Seasons or a Ritz Carlton.
Several other complaints:
1) Internet service -- this is a very expensive hotel, and I expect HSIA to work properly. The wi-fi supplied by Smart City should be removed due to a horrible security flaw and replaced by a system that is secure (Smart City uses http vs https for entering credit card information). I spoke to a callcenter representative from Smart City about this, and he understood the huge risk that this presents -- anybody with AirSnort or similar freeware software can sniff the customer's credit card information. No other major provider of wi-fi (Wayport, T-Mobile, etc.) has this security flaw as they all use https. Disney should not allow this huge risk to their guests, most of which don't have a good understanding about the risks involved.
I then tried to use the wired ethernet port, but it didn't work. The callcenter rep. said that they would send someone to fix it "within 1/2 hour to 2 hours". It was not fixed until the next day (about 18 hours later). For executives like myself, this is intolerable.
It was also impossible to get into Chef Mickey's. The hotel should allow people in the hotel to get prefferential treatment at the in-hotel restaurant.
Whereas we had a great time at this hotel in the past, I doubt that we will be staying at this hotel in the future. We spent the last 4 nights of our 8 night trip at the Doubletree at the entrance to Universal. I got better treatment at the Doubletree for 1/4 of the price of the Disney hotel, it was convenient to the attractions, shopping, etc. (and yes, the internet worked first time!)

"The only complaint we have is that the housekeeping staff failed to replace our washcloths, leaving us with none to use."

"The arcade was excellent and the hotel had an attractive pool.
The front desk made us wait on two different lines to purchase park tickets instead of enabling the check in to include this."

"We learned about amenities in the room that we sould ask for via the internet not from the information that we were given at the time of our reservation.Because we had 2 little children with us we were grateful that we got everything we asked for (patio room, refrigrator, coffee maker, bed rails but didn't know these options existed.
We also thought that we were making our reservation directly with Disney and discovered that we had booked through a travel agent. The way it is presented by travel agents makes it very deceiving to the uneducated.
my frustration with guest services was over the fact that we were told that as hotel guests the only day that we could get into Magic Kindgom before it was opened to the general public was Monday 3/21 when in fact it was a privilege given to hotel guests all week. We reworked our 3 cay stay based on this information and this didn't allow us to maintain the priority seating arrangements we had worked so hard to get."

"My first stay at the Comtemporary was 32 years ago with my young children shortly after Disney World opened. We visited several times as they were growing up and each time stayed at the Comtemporary--my children would not consider staying anywhere else. We had the pleasure of taking our seven year old twin grandchildren to Disney recently. I wanted their experience to be as magical and wonderful as my childrens' first visit many years ago so I wouldn't consider staying at any hotel other than the Contemporary. I'm happy to report that this recent experience was as wonderful as our first!!"

"Service and amenities were very good. Our only complaint was that the walls separating rooms were so thin that you could hear the conversations your next door neighbors were carrying on."

"We found all the staff to be cordial, helpful, and to the point. Enjoyed a wonderful dinner in the Steak House made even more enjoyable with the pleasantries of Jim. We were there for Night of Joy, and the convenience of the monorail to Disneyworld after we checked in our car for the evening, was delightful. Thanks very much Mickey and all the Cast. You guys are always winners. Dave and Joanne Halloran, Altamonte Springs"

"I think the hotel is too pricey, but that's Disney! The rooms could use some updating- bedspreads and more comfortable chairs. We loved the location and the pool. We will probably visit again and will reccomend it to our friends that are willing to pay for the conveniences."

"I ran the Disney Marathon on 1-11-04. We stayed at the Contemporary so that things would be easy for me and my family as far a getting around. All of that went fine. The only problem we had was that check out time was 11:00 am. I talked with the front desk about getting a late check out and was told we could not. We were a little upset to not get to spend any time at the hotel after our return from the martathon. We were out by 11:00, but if I had not finished the marathon in my goal time we would not have made it."
